The Huffington Post – Wikipedia described The Huffington Post as “...liberal American online news aggregator and blog…The site offers news, blogs, and original content and covers politics, business, entertainment, environment, technology, popular media, lifestyle, culture, comedy, healthy living, women’s interests, and local news.

Humor Outcasts – Humor writers who are accepted can post as often as they like.  HumorOutcasts.com is THE place to take a humor break. Founded by Donna Cavanagh, it is the result of a brainstorming session between several humor writers who longed for a site where humor is the focus — not an afterthought.”

Reductress –  “The first and only fake women’s news magazine. We parody the entertainment, advertising, and other media sources that women consume daily.”

  • Pitch headline and video ideas to intern@reductress.com. Pitches are due at 9 am Monday and will be approved by end-of-day Monday. 
    • Editors only assign a small percentage of the pitches to be written, so it is asked that you submit at least 10 pitch ideas per email. Reductress does not currently pay, but you will be credited for your work.  Submit the following info:
      • Proposed Headline (Please try to work the joke/hook/idea into this headline)
      • Brief Story Description (Please keep to under 50 words)
      • Proposed Story Type – News, Listicle, Slideshow, or one-liner (“one-liners” are featured under “From the Print Edition” on the homepage and do not require you to write up an accompanying article).
  • Topical/time-sensitive ideas may be sent in separately throughout the week with “TOPICAL PITCH” in the email subject line.  Pitches about annual events, holidays, and awards shows should ideally be sent in two weeks in advance of the event. Topical ideas should be written up ASAP once assigned. Time-sensitive ideas are generally not suitable for video pitches.

Women’s Voices for Change – “Focused on women over 40, Women’s Voices for Change explores the realities of contemporary women who are vital, visible, and active, who seek an accurate reflection of themselves.
