Are you a podcast listener? Maybe you listen to my podcast series where I talk to an editor each week about submitting to their publication (brownie points for you!).
Did you know that there are lots of opportunities to be the podcast guest instead of the listener? Being a podcast guest can be a great way to connect with listeners interested in hearing your stories or expertise on a topic, and also to market your products, services, message, or opportunities in a natural and relatable way.
Here are 9 podcast programs looking for guests that you might consider reaching out to:
Podcasts with established bloggers and authors: “Do you have a favorite blogger or author you’d love to hear featured on a Power of Moms podcast? Or are YOU an established blogger/author who would like to share some ideas with our community? Submit the name of the person (or YOUR name) and blog url, plus 3-5 questions you’d love us to ask during the recording” APPLY/SUBMIT

Parents and experts who live and work with today’s teens and tweens: “What will we cover? The same things we cover on the site – school, attitudes, dating, relationships, college prep, home life as well as just the random things that happen in life. Parent Nation with Tara Kennedy-Kline
“Parent Nation, this ain’t your mama’s parenting show. But it can be a place to pull up a chair, shake up a cocktail, and kick up your heels while you tune in to the refreshingly real talk about what it takes to be a functional – and fun – parent in today’s wild world of raising kids.” APPLY/SUBMIT

“On each episode of the podcast, we invite writers to come on the show and pitch their story idea to me and Brion AND our esteemed Guest Host (usually a published author, editor, or publisher). Your story will be center stage as we discuss it with you, ask questions, and offer suggestions on how to make it a strong as it can be. We tend to gravitate to genre fiction (fantasy, scifi, thriller, etc), but all stories will be considered (because really, the attributes of a good story are pretty universal. Discuss).”APPLY/SUBMIT
If you are interested in being a guest on a podcast but don’t see the right opportunity here, or you want to find more opportunities, I’d suggest doing some keyword searches in iTunes to find an interview show that covers the topic you’d be interested in discussing. From there, check to see that they have published episodes recently (many programs fizzle out but may still have older episodes on listed). If you find a current show that is of interest, Google to see if you can find their website and touch base with a speaker/guest pitch!
